Ramon Eusebio Contreras

Ramon is currently Senior Advisor to New York State Assemblyman Eddie Gibbs. Prior to joining the Assembly, he was a Senior Associate at Mercury Public Affairs, where he played a pivotal role in electing AM Gibbs, the first formerly incarcerated person elected to the NYS Legislature. In 2018, Ramon co-founded the non-profit Youth Over Guns and joined March for Our Lives as the National Field Director/Strategist. He has consulted on various campaigns and was an Advisor for the Democratic National Committee Organizing Corp 2020. Ramon is currently a Board Member and Advisor to The Next 50, the nation’s leading Democratic PAC working to elect the next generation of leaders. Ramon has been recognized by the National Center for Civil and Human Rights as a

‘significant figure’ in the Latino community, People Magazine’s Latinx Star and Changemaker to Watch, and is the recipient of the Manhattan Young Democrats Next Leader of the Year and National Black Caucus of State Legislators Youth Awards.

 

Michael Cox

Michael Cox is a social impact investor and searchfund entrepreneur. Prior to this Michael was an Impact Investment fund manager at Wellington Management Company and a Vice President at Morgan Stanley. Michael began his career as an 8th Grade Teach for America Corps Member in Brooklyn before serving as a Legislative Assistant to Congressman Gregory Meeks and in the Obama Administration at the U.S. Commerce Department. Following the Obama administration, Michael led Government and Community Affairs for New York University in Brooklyn and served as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of the Mayor of the City of New York. Michael is a graduate of Syracuse University’s Maxwell School, holds a master’s in education from Fordham University, a MPA from New York University, and a MBA from Georgetown University. Michael is a CUP Fellow, a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, and a Member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Frances Escano

Frances Escano is dedicated to expanding culture, STEM learning and education. As the director of government affairs at the New York Hall of Science, she secures government funding and maintains partnerships with public officials and local communities. Escano brings over 11 years of experience in government and community relations, including notable positions at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the New York City Council. She holds a master’s in public administration from Columbia University, is proud of her South Bronx roots and currently resides in Queens.

Jordan Feiner

Jordan Feiner is the Liaison to Community Board 4 for Council Member Erik Bottcher, and previously the Community Liaison to Council Speaker Corey Johnson. He is a graduate of LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts and a lifelong New Yorker. Jordan loves being able to give back to the city and communities that have given him so much during his upbringing. He graduated from the George Washington University in 2018 with a major in Political Science, and double minor in Theater and Psychology.


 

Miranda

Goodwin-Raab

Miranda Goodwin-Raab currently serves as the Director of Public Engagement at the New York State Independent Redistricting Commission. Miranda has worked on local, state and federal redistricting since 2021, traveling around the city and state to facilitate the participation of all New Yorkers in the redistricting process. Prior to these roles, she worked on the Biden campaign in 2020 as well as the Georgia Senate runoff campaigns that same year. As a native New Yorker, Miranda is proud to serve the city and state that has raised her. She graduated from Duke University with a B.A. in Political Science.

Jerrell Gray

Jerrell Gray, a native of Brooklyn, NY, currently serves as a Senior Policy Analyst in the Department of Empowerment, Compliance, and Opportunities at the New York State Homes and Community Renewal. Within this role, he is committed to ensuring economic opportunity within the HCR structure for Minority Women Business Enterprises (MWBEs) statewide through outreach, technical assistance, strategic planning, monitoring, and reporting. He also is the Political Relations Director of Strategy for Black Lives, a Youth Organizing Group dedicated to developing comprehensive strategies to enhance the well-being of the black community. Jerrell has a BA in Political Science and Urban Studies from the University of Rochester and a Master of Urban Planning from NYU Wagner where he was an inaugural Georgina and Charlotte Bloomberg Public Service Fellow. 

Marquis A. Harrison

Marquis A. Harrison is an educator and childrens’ advocate. A University of Rochester and Fordham University graduate, he started his teaching journey through Teach For America. Currently serving as the Chairperson of Manhattan Community Board 10, Marquis has assumed various pivotal roles within the Board, including 1st Vice Chair, Parliamentarian, Chair of the Bylaws Taskforce, and Vice Chair of the Education, Youth, and Libraries Committee. Within the United Federation of Teachers (UFT), he champions educators' rights as the Frederick Douglass Academy Chapter Chairperson, earning recognition for his focused and effective lobbying efforts citywide. He is a national delegate to the American Federation of Teachers and National Education Association. Marquis is a member of the NAACP New York Branch and a Life Member of the Alpha

Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Rooted in gratitude for the opportunities provided by the New York Public school system, he takes immense pride in serving the students and community that have played a pivotal role in shaping his life.

 

Fayth Henderson

Fayth Henderson serves as the Senior Program Manager for the Mayor's Office of Faith-Based and Community Partnerships where her role brings her to interact with the faith community across NYC. In her free time she enjoys traveling, reading and arts and crafts.

Kerry-Ann Henry

Kerry-Ann Henry is a Development officer at The New York Women’s Foundation, where she leads The Emerging Leaders Network, a group of young professionals who educate, empower, and inspire others to learn about the challenges and philanthropic needs of women and families in NYC. Her passion for philanthropy and activism has led her on a journey of influencing her community to make change through action. In July of 2023, Kerry-Ann was appointed by the Bronx Borough President to Community Board 12 that serves the northeast section of The Bronx. In addition, she currently serves on the Community Advisory Board for NYC Health & Hospitals for Jacobi as a liaison between the community + the hospital. As a mom of 5 girls, she volunteers at their schools which includes being A Penn State Parent Ambassador and a Vice Co-Chair at The Calhoun School. Kerry-Ann believes that is great leader not because she loves to lead but because she loves to serve. 

Saye Joseph

Saye is a migrant from Saint Lucia and currently works as the Chief of Staff for a City Councilmember. She has a MPA with a focus in policy analysis from NYU Wagner, a BA in Political Science and Asian Studies from City College, and formerly worked at Citizen Action of New York, Black Youth Project (BYP) 100, and Brooklyn Defender Services. She is passionate about creating tangible and strategic solutions to dismantling systems of oppression, and has a commitment to creating structures that keep us safe. She also looks for opportunities to theorize and include in organizing and policy work a globalized lens when speaking about systems of oppression so that we are more reflective of the most marginalized. Saye also loves playing volleyball, watching Korean dramas and anime, trying new food spots, traveling, and being outdoors.

Jazmin Kay

Jazmin Kay has served as a nonprofit leader, government consultant, and local government appointee. She is currently a Government & Public Services Consultant where she supports state and local governments. Previously, she served her home community in the Hudson Valley, NY, as Deputy Communications Director for Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan. She is the current President and the former Executive Director of 18by Vote. Jazmin graduated Summa Cum Laude from The George Washington University with a B.A. in Political Science. During her time in DC, she interned at The Obama White House in the Office of Digital Strategy, for Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (NY), and served as a reporter covering Voting Rights and Civic Engagement for The Center for American Progress. Jazmin is a Bohnett Public Service scholar at New York University where she is pursuing an M.P.A. in Public & Nonprofit Management & Policy.

Ashley Lin

Ashley Lin is the Community Services Director for New York State Senator John C. Liu, representing District 16 and formerly District 11. She manages the daily operations of the office from overseeing constituent services, case files and communications. Ashley also handles external relations, organizing community events and maintaining in district stakeholder relations from service providers, community boards and civic associations. Ashley is passionate about fostering a deep commitment to strengthen community ties and addressing local needs. She is a proud dog mom of Poke, a 4 year old Maltipoo.

Jason Loughran

Jason Loughran, a U.S. Navy Veteran, is the Senior Advisor of Intergovernmental Affairs at the NYC Department of Veterans' Services. As Assistant Commissioner of Community Services, he orchestrated the agency's direct service initiatives and fostered partnerships to break down barriers faced by NYC Veterans seeking resources. During his military tenure, while deployed to Afghanistan in 2010, his detachment earned a Flag Letter of Appreciation and a Presidential Unit Citation for their exceptional heroism when transporting supplies and equipment through hostile territories. Jason is deeply involved in the New York veteran community, actively participating in VFW Post 1384 and the annual Navy Seal Swim—a charitable endeavor where swimmers, including Navy Seals, local police officers, and firefighters, swim across the Hudson River to raise funds for homeless veterans. He has been honored as the Veteran of the Game by the New York Jets on September 11th, received the 2019 Baruch College Alumni Association Leadership in Public Service Award, the 2021 Irish Echo Community Champion Award, the 2023 Baruch Alumni Changemakers Award, and named in City & State's 2023 New York City 40 under 40.

Christelle Onwu

Christelle Onwu has been recognized by City & State's NYC 40 Under 40 Rising Star class of 2021, The Assembly of the State of New York, and the New York City Council. Christelle is a 2021 Council on Urban Professional fellow and Coro New York Leadership 2017 ICLP fellow. She is a community advocate, public servant, entrepreneur, and community leader who served as the City of New York’s first inaugural African Diaspora Advisor. Christelle served as an Adjunct Lecturer at Columbia University School of Social Work and John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where she taught courses on Justice in the Africana World, Environmental and Institutional Racism in the Africana Department. She is an advisory member on the Language Assistance Advisory Committee of the NYC Civic Engagement Commission. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Justice and Humanities Studies at CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a MS in Social Work (Policy Specialization and International Social Welfare for Services to Refugee and Immigrants Field of Practice) at Columbia School of Social Work, where her article titled “Understanding Female Genital Cutting in the United Kingdom within Immigrant Communities” was published in the Social Work Review. She is a proud New Yorker and hails from Cameroon. She is fluent in French, pidgin, and Eton. 

Winn Perisyasamy

Aswini "Winn" Periyasamy has worked in policy and advocacy in local government and in local, state and national nonprofits for several years, currently serving as the assistant policy director with the Manhattan Borough President's Office. Their career in policy and organizing has been dedicated to advancing access to the resources everyone needs for their health and wellbeing. They were most recently a legislative and budget director with the NYC Council and a policy analyst with Be A Hero PAC. While in law school, Winn was a Stein Scholar in Public Interest and a Crowley Scholar in International Human Rights at Fordham University, and engaged in outside externships, organizing and fellowships including as a 2020 - 2021 Coro New York Immigrant Civic Leadership Fellow. Their writing and work has appeared in The Guardian, The Nation, City and State New York, Rewire News, Gothamist and more. They have their JD from Fordham Law School, MPH from Columbia University, and BA in political science from Barnard College.

Renee Taylor

After a successful career in advertising working on multimillion-dollar accounts like Garnier, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HP), and GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals (GSK), Renee turned her focus to public service. As Chief of Staff to Councilwoman Selvena Brooks-Powers, she serves the 31st Council District which includes the communities of Arverne, Brookville, Edgemere, Laurelton, Springfield Gardens, Rosedale, and Far Rockaway. Renee has always been committed to community service. Whether through volunteering with NY Cares, God’s Love We Deliver, or as an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., she has served her community for years. She is a board member of Rochdale Village Social Services, Inc. a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide services designed to improve and enhance the quality of life of all residents in the greater Rochdale Village Community. A graduate of CUNY’s York College, Renee has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Lorean Valentin

Lorean Valentin is a community liaison at the community outreach unit for the office of NYC Council Speaker, Adrienne E. Adams. Her profile covers Health, Hospitals, Mental Health, Disabilities, Addictions Oversight Investigations and the Progressive Caucus. She was the Director of Career Development and Advancement for Healthcare + Human Services for the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center and former Manhattan Borough Director for the NYC Health and Hospitals Test and Trace Corps Outreach Campaign. A Latinx Woman of Puerto Rican descent, Lorean is a New Yorker through and through: growing up in East Harlem’s Wagner Houses and the South Bronx. She served as the National Executive Director for three years for the nation’s first Multicultural Sorority and certified member of the National Association for Fraternity and Sorority Advisors in Higher Education. She also served as Project Coordinator for the 1199/SEIU’s Healthcare Education Project for 15 years, working on Universal Healthcare, SCHIP, and saving healthcare/Medicaid from budget cuts by coordinating endless lobby days locally and in Albany. She served as a logistics coordinator to Elect President Obama in Wisconsin, Texas, and Puerto Rico. Lorean currently spends her weekends urban farming in the South Bronx, where she and her great-uncle Max have served as the secretary of a community garden. They are dedicated to organizing, educating and nourishing the community of the South Bronx.
